In coordination with Neighbor 911.
In a sudden cardiac arrest, the chance of survival falls dramatically with every minute that passes without help — yet the average emergency response can take many minutes. Patient Rights Now is partnering with Neighbor 911 to push that number as close to 90 seconds as we can get, by turning trained, willing neighbors into the first link in the chain of survival.
Why seconds matter
- Time is tissue. Permanent damage can begin within minutes of cardiac or respiratory arrest.
- Bystanders beat ambulances. The nearest help is almost always someone already close by.
- Most people want to help. They just need to know, in time, that help is needed nearby.
How Neighbor 911 works
Neighbor 911 alerts nearby trained community responders the moment an emergency is reported — so someone with hands, an AED, or basic training can arrive in the critical first minute or two, long before EMS. It’s a community-powered layer on top of the 911 system, not a replacement for it.
