Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

Patient Rights Now (“Patient Rights Now,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a project operated by Lifesaver Labs Public Benefit Corporation, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit patientrightsnow.org, buy a wristband, share your story, or contact us, and how we use, share, and protect that information.

Who we are

Patient Rights Now is operated by Lifesaver Labs Public Benefit Corporation, 7930 Palacio Del Mar Drive, Boca Raton, FL 33433-4148, USA. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected]. We are the party responsible for the personal information described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • Orders and purchases. When you buy a wristband, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), shipping address, billing address, the items and quantities you order, and related order communications. Payments are processed through PayPal and supported digital wallets (Apple Pay and Google Pay); we receive confirmation of payment but do not collect or store your full card number.
  • Share Your Story submissions. If you submit a story, we collect the content of your story, your U.S. state, the type of facility involved, how the provider responded, which patient right your story concerns, and your email address.
  • Contact and updates. If you use our contact form or sign up for updates, we collect your name, email address, and any message you send us.

Information we collect automatically. When you use the site, we and our service providers automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, referring pages, and timestamps, through cookies, server logs, and our content-delivery and security provider.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your shopping cart working, remember your preferences (including language selection), keep the site secure, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect checkout and other features.

To prevent spam and abuse, our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, and we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Your use of these services is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

How we use your information

  • Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, and send order confirmations, receipts, and shipping updates.
  • Provide customer service and respond to your questions and contact-form messages.
  • Publish and amplify submitted stories to advance the patient-rights movement (see “Stories you submit” below).
  • Send you updates or newsletters if you have asked to receive them; you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations and enforce our terms.

How we use shipping and billing addresses

We use the shipping address you provide solely to fulfill and deliver your order — preparing your package, generating shipping labels, sharing it with the postal service or carrier that delivers your order, calculating shipping, and contacting you about delivery.

We use the billing address to process and verify your payment (including address verification by our payment processor), calculate any applicable sales tax, prepare receipts and invoices, detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, and maintain the business, tax, and accounting records the law requires.

We do not sell your addresses, and we do not use them for advertising. We share them only with the service providers who help us complete your order — such as our payment processor and shipping carriers — and only as needed for those purposes, or where required by law.

Payment information

We do not collect, see, or store your full credit or debit card number or security code. Depending on how you choose to pay, your payment details are entered into and processed directly by PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. PayPal serves as our payment processor and is certified to the PCI-DSS security standard; with Apple Pay and Google Pay, your card number is tokenized by Apple or Google and is not shared with us. In every case we receive only confirmation that your payment succeeded, along with limited details (such as your billing address and the card type or last few digits) needed to identify the transaction and help prevent fraud. Your payment information is handled in accordance with the privacy policies of PayPal, Apple, or Google, respectively.

Stories you submit

Stories are submitted so they can help the movement for patient rights. We may publish your story together with the non-identifying details you provide (such as your state and the type of facility). We do not publish your email address; we use it only to follow up with you about your story if needed. Please do not include information you do not want shared, and avoid including other people’s personal or health information.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who operate the site and complete your orders on our behalf — for example, our payment processor (PayPal), website host, email provider, content-delivery and security provider, shipping carriers, and any tax-calculation service — under obligations to protect your information;
  • When required to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, safety, or property; and
  • In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.

How long we keep your information

We keep order information (including shipping and billing addresses) for as long as needed to fulfill your order and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We keep story submissions for as long as they remain relevant to our advocacy. We keep contact and subscription information until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe. We may retain limited information as needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption of our website (HTTPS) and trusted third-party payment processing — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

You may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. Depending on where you live — including if you are a California resident under the CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we may need to verify your identity before responding.

Children’s privacy

Our site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Where your information is processed

We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be handled in the U.S.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party sites (such as PayPal or partner organizations) that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites; please review their own privacy policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be posted on this page.
